8011 aluminum coil is the most widely used aluminum material for bottle caps. It has two main temperaments: H16 and H14. 8011 aluminum coil for bottle caps is an aluminum alloy containing more than 1% iron and silicon, which makes it popular among many Aluminum alloy has advantages in that its tensile strength is between 125Mpa and 165Mpa, its yield strength is between 110Mpa, and its elongation is between 2% and 5%. As a kind of aluminum cover sheet, it is usually processed into pull-tab bottle caps for beer, cosmetics, medicines, milk powder, juice, tea, etc.

8011 aluminum closure sheet overview

Aluminum closure plates are thin gauge aluminum alloys designed primarily for the production of container closures or lids. These sheets are specifically designed to meet the stringent requirements of the packaging industry, ensuring optimal sealing, durability and protection of the package contents. Aluminum enclosure panels are available in a variety of grades, each customized to meet specific performance standards and application needs.

8011 aluminum alloy is a widely used aluminum alloy known for its versatility and exceptional performance. It belongs to the 8xxx series aluminum alloy and has excellent corrosion resistance, formability and weldability. The 8011 alloy is primarily composed of aluminum, with alloying elements such as silicon, iron, and trace amounts of other elements added to enhance its mechanical and metallurgical properties.

Composition and performance of 8011 aluminum closure plate

The composition of 8011 aluminum closure panels has been engineered to provide an ideal balance between mechanical strength, formability and corrosion resistance. Typically, 8011 aluminum enclosure panels contain approximately 99% aluminum, with silicon and iron being the primary alloying elements. In addition, small amounts of other elements, such as copper and manganese, may be present to further enhance specific properties.

The mechanical properties of 8011 aluminum cap plates are tailored to meet the stringent requirements of ROPP cap manufacturing. Its excellent tensile strength allows for efficient molding processes without compromising the integrity of the closure. In addition, 8011 aluminum closure plates have excellent elongation and ductility, allowing them to withstand the stresses encountered during capping and sealing operations.

In terms of surface properties, 8011 aluminum closure panels offer excellent corrosion resistance, ensuring long-term protection against environmental factors such as moisture and chemical exposure. In addition, its smooth and uniform surface finish facilitates precise printing and labeling, allowing manufacturers to customize caps according to branding and marketing requirements.

Manufacturing process of 8011 aluminum closure sheet

  1. The production of 8011 aluminum closure panels involves a series of complex manufacturing processes to ensure consistent quality and performance. The process typically begins with selecting a high-purity aluminum ingot, which is melted in a furnace and cast into a slab of the desired thickness.
  2. The slab is then hot rolled to reduce its thickness to the specifications required for closed slab production. The hot rolled coils are then cold rolled, a process that further refines the thickness of the material and imparts the required mechanical properties.
  3. After cold rolling, the 8011 aluminum coil is annealed to eliminate internal stress and enhance the formability of the material. Annealing also improves the surface finish of the closed sheet, making it suitable for subsequent printing and coating operations.
  4. After annealing, the closed sheet undergoes surface treatment processes such as degreasing and chemical conversion coating to enhance its adhesion and corrosion resistance. Depending on application requirements, closed sheets can receive additional treatments, such as painting or printing, to impart specific functionality or a decorative finish.

8011 aluminum coil plate undergoes repeated rolling and slitting processes, then cutting, painting, drying, punching, and finally made into bottle caps. Liquor and wine bottle caps require better deep drawing properties of raw materials than medicinal bottle caps. Therefore, aluminum coils must undergo different tempering treatments to obtain stronger elongation.

Aluminum sealing plate is light weight and environmentally friendly, Aluminum is only one-third as dense as copper and iron, making it also much lighter. In addition, it has excellent corrosion resistance and good printing performance. After painting, letters or patterns can remain on the surface for a long time without blurring.

AA8011 H14 aluminum plate used for bottle caps is rolled to very fine tolerances, increasing cap production per ton of stock and allowing high-speed, multi-chamber presses to operate without interruption. This closure sheet's strength, high formability, low earring and printable surface make it ideal for tamper-evident caps and vial seals.

The broad categories of ROPP bottle caps can be defined as ordinary printed caps, top embossed caps, knurled embossed chamfered caps, side embossed chamfered caps, deep drawn caps, ultra-deep drawn side dry-adhesive stamped caps, etc.

8011 aluminum closure sheet for ropp caps applications

8011 aluminum closure plates find widespread use in the packaging industry, especially in the manufacture of ROPP lids used to seal various types of containers. ROPP caps are widely used in the pharmaceutical, beverage and cosmetic industries due to their tamper-evident design and reliable sealing properties.

The superior properties of 8011 aluminum closure plates make them ideal for ROPP bottle cap production, ensuring safe and airtight seals for bottles and jars. Additionally, its compatibility with printing and coating processes allows for the incorporation of branding elements and regulatory messaging, thereby increasing product awareness and consumer trust.

In addition to ROPP lids, 8011 aluminum sealing sheets are used in other packaging applications such as screw caps, crown caps, and tamper-evident closures. Its versatility, coupled with its excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, make it the material of choice for a variety of closure solutions across industries.
